What is the ETA-IL, and does my child need one?
The ETA-IL is Israel’s Electronic Travel Authorization system, effective from August 1, 2024, for travelers from certain countries. It authorizes entrance to Israel for stays of up to 90 days for tourism or short-term study. It is required in order to enter the country (which is a prerequisite to being approved for a visa).
How long is the Student Visa (A/2) valid, and can it be renewed?
The A/2 Student Visa is typically valid for up to one year and allows multiple entries and exits during its validity. It can be renewed annually as long as the student remains enrolled in a recognized educational institution in Israel.
What happens if my child’s passport is close to expiring?
It’s recommended that your child’s passport be valid for at least six months beyond their planned stay in Israel. If the passport is close to expiring, renew it before applying for the visa.
